Bollywood ace filmmaker Karan Johar recently addressed a claim made by a user on X (formerly Twitter), accusing him of using Ozempic, a drug often linked to rapid weight loss.

Meanwhile, the user cited Maheep Kapoor’s remarks from 'Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wive's, where she criticized those using the drug, contributing to shortages for diabetic patients who actually need it.

In response, Karan shared a screenshot of the post on his Instagram stories, firmly denying the accusation and clarifying that his weight loss was the result of healthy eating. He also tagged Maheep, playfully asking if she had him in mind when mentioning the drug on the show.

The post read, “#Maheep rightly called out people for using #ozempic for fast weightloss and driving it out of stock for people with diabetes. Hope she calls out #karanjohar too, the producer of #FabulousLives #bollywoodwives (sic).”

Reacting to the post, Karan wrote, “Being healthy and eating well and reinventing the wheel of your own nutrition! Aur Ozempic ko Mile credit ??? And @maheepkapoor did you mean me???” Maheep reshared the post with a bunch of laughing emojis and Karan shot back, “You’re laughing? I’m offended.”

For those unware, Ozempic is a drug used to manage type 2 diabetes by helping regulate blood sugar levels. One of its side effects is weight loss, as it slows down the rate at which the stomach empties, creating a feeling of fullness and reducing food intake.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Karan recently announced his next with Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday. The film is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on March 14, 2025.
