Kishwer Merchant recently opened up about an unexpected experience during her pregnancy craving whiskey, despite not being a drinker. Her husband, Suyyash Rai, humorously shared that she seemed to enjoy the whiskey cravings, much to their amusement.

The couple, who welcomed their first child in 2021, spoke candidly about this phase on a podcast hosted by Rubina Dilaik, where they delved into their personal lives, their parenting journey, and how the eight-year age gap between them has influenced their relationship. During the podcast, Kishwer reflected on how becoming a mother has transformed her emotionally.

Talking about it Kishwer said, “We were at a party and I felt like drinking Whiskey despite not being someone who drinks. I told Suyyash about the same and he asked me why I want to drink when I’m not someone who usually does it. Later, I asked him if I can just smell it. I still don’t know how none of my friends knew I was pregnant.”

Kishwer shared, “Motherhood has brought crazy changes. I used to be mentally strong, but that’s changed now. I’ve become a different person—I cry easily, and sometimes I get angry at myself for getting upset over such small things. I’ve become extra sensitive.” Suyyash chimed in with his own humorous experience, saying, “It wasn’t just her who got pregnant. I was equally pregnant with her, especially weight-wise. My mom sent gond ke ladoos, and since she didn’t eat them, I had to finish them all. I reached 103 kgs! One day, I saw the weighing scale hit 102.8 kgs and thought, ‘What have I done to myself?’”

The couple’s candid admissions about weight gain, sensitivity, and emotional shifts during their pregnancy phase were a hit with fans, offering a real and relatable look into parenthood. Suyyash’s playful commentary and Kishwer’s honest reflections gave listeners a peek into the ups and downs of their life as new parents.
