Selma Blair celebrates being 'truly relapse-free' from multiple sclerosis; says "going out isn't so scary" anymore

Selma Blair, the ‘Legally Blonde’ actress, revealed that she is ‘truly relapse-free’ from multiple sclerosis while attending a recent award show.

According to People, the actress said, “I am doing amazingly well, I’ve been feeling great for about a year."

“But I am finally well enough to really, genuinely … I always try and feel my best, but now that I actually have stamina and energy and getting out and going out isn’t so scary,” the 52-year-old actress added.

Selma Blair looks forward to...The ‘Cruel Intentions’ actress highlighted when asked about what she looks forward to, “It's funny, I haven't spent enough time having dreams. And now it's like, what are my dreams?” Blair expressed that her future goals are to get career-oriented or to get back into acting. After being diagnosed, she could not pursue her dreams because, “You're just tired all the time. I spent so much of my life so tired from being unwell that I think I just was trying to get through the day."

Moreover, Selma said that she would still advocate “for people with chronic illness and getting better, and what that looks like when you haven’t made your wishes.” “How do we give ourselves a new life force?” she asked.

Selma's future goalWell, for Blair, her new life force would be writing a new young adult book, inspired by ‘The Secret Garden.’ In 2022, she wrote a memoir, ‘Mean Baby: A Memoir of Growing Up.’

Previously, Selma revealed...Selma Blair disclosed her diagnosis in an emotional social media post in 2018. “I am disabled. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps,” the ‘Hellboy’ actress wrote at the time.

Several years later, following the bone marrow transplant, Blair disclosed her recovering well, “It took a long time to recover, but now I’m finally walking really well. I’m wearing heels without a cane,” she told Page Six.
