Jagex has made a surprise release of RuneScape Dragonwilds on stream, bringing a fresh survival twist to the beloved franchise. The cooperative crafting adventure transports the players to Ashenfall dragon-ravaged lands, where one must build, craft, and battle the RuneScape Dragonwilds iconic creatures. While currently available in early access on Steam, the fans are curious about the potential arrival of the game on other platforms, especially the Xbox Game Pass .

Here is what we know about the availability of the RuneScape Dragonwilds.

RuneScape Dragonwilds current availability and future plans

As of now, RuneScape Dragonwilds is PC-exclusive. The early access of the game is priced at $29.99 on Steam. It’s been confirmed by Jagex that the console versions, including the Xbox, are in the works, but the players will have to wait till the end of 2026. The delay is not just about the porting; the developers even wish to refine the gameplay and more content, ensuring a much more polished experience before expanding to the other platforms.

While the Game Pass release has not yet been confirmed officially, Jagex has not ruled it out either. Given the push of Microsoft for the survival games on service, there is a chance that Dragonwilds could land here eventually. However, if RuneScape’s past titles are any indication, the direct purchase might be much more likely.

Note: A similar timeline applies to the PlayStation players, too. They might get access right alongside the Xbox in 2026. The exclusivity deals have been hinted at by Jagex, so both platforms must receive the game simultaneously.

What can Xbox players expect?

When the RuneScape Dragonwilds game arrives on Xbox, it should include all of the improvements and updates made during the early access to the PC. Jagex plans to roll out new regions, skills, enemies, and gears every few months. This means that console players will get a much more complete version at the launch. The crossplay is not confirmed up till now, but the co-op focus of the game makes it a strong possibility.

As of now, Xbox fans will have to wait. However, the extra development time means a better experience in the long run. So, keep an eye out for the announcements (follow the official channels of Jagex) made by Jagex for the official pricing and the potential Game Pass news as 2026 approaches. Also, until then, enjoy the evolving game of Dragonwilds with your PC player friends.
