Customs seizes ganja worth Rs 1.45 cr from passenger at Mumbai airport

MUMBAI: Mumbai Customs intercepted a sizable quantity of ganja worth Rs 1.45 crore at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Authorities seized the contraband from a passenger who arrived from Bangkok on Saturday.

The passenger had concealed 1.45 kg of the substance in vacuum-sealed packets and wrapped them in clothing within his check-in luggage.

The accused is now facing charges under the Customs Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Officials stated, "This operation is part of an ongoing effort to stop drug smuggling."

Further investigations are underway as authorities continue their crackdown on such illegal activities.
