BJP slammed Mamata Banerjee-led TMC govt over Thursday's SC order upholding cancellation of 25,752 teacher and school staff appointments of 2016. Other opposition parties struck a similar tone, though all showed sympathy for job losers. State BJP chief and Union minister Sukanta Majumdar held CM Mamata and TMC responsible. His party colleague and LoP Suvendu Adhikari demanded the CM's resignation and arrest of all her cabinet members. Adhikari demanded that the CM's relief fund be used to pay salaries of all job losers. CPM's Sujan Chakraborty wondered why the govt couldn't differentiate between the deserving and the tainted. "Is the govt siding with the unqualified?" he asked.
