Donald Trump claimed on Monday that Israel and Iran approached him for peace "almost simultaneously", with his fresh claim coming hours after his announcement that the Asian rivals have accepted a United States-proposed ceasefire pact to end their "12-day war."
"Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, 'PEACE! I knew the time was NOW. The World, and the Middle East, are the real WINNERS!," the US president wrote on his Truth Social platform.
The two countries, he added, would see "tremendous love, peace and prosperity in their futures."
"They have so much to gain, and yet, so much to lose if they stray from the road of RIGHTEOUSNESS & TRUTH. The future for Israel & Iran is UNLIMITED, & filled with great PROMISE. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!" Trump added.
While Israel is yet to react to Trump's ceasefire announcement, Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi noted that "there is no agreement on cessation of military operations."

However, Araghchi suggested shortly after that Iran has accepted the ceasefire agreement.
"The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute. Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute," he posted on X.
