Harris, who was interviewed by CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell while campaigning in Kalamazoo, Michigan, described Trump as "increasingly unstable and unhinged," resorting to name-calling due to his lack of a plan for the American people.
The vice president highlighted the recent criticisms of Trump by individuals who worked closely with him, including former chiefs of staff, secretaries of defense, national security advisers, and his own vice president. These individuals have expressed their belief that Trump is unfit to serve as president again and poses a danger to the nation. Harris condemned all forms of political violence against anyone while emphasising the importance of listening to those who know Trump best.
With the election just over a week away, Harris acknowledged the close nature of the presidential race but noted the enthusiasm she has witnessed on the campaign trail.
A recent CBS News poll showed that Harris and Trump were tied in battleground states, with Harris holding a slight lead nationally. The vice president expressed her commitment to earning every vote and has been travelling extensively to connect with voters.
Harris outlined her vision for the first 100 days if elected, focusing on legislation to lower costs, safeguard reproductive rights, and address border security.
