Vice President Kamala Harris , in an interview with NBC News just two weeks before Election Day, expressed her concerns about former President Donald Trump ’s efforts to undermine democracy . She said, “Donald Trump tried to undo a free and fair election, and we cannot allow him to do it again.”

Speaking to NBC News, the Democratic Presidential candidate cited Trump’s unwillingness to accept the results of the 2020 election and his involvement in the January 6th assault on the Capitol, where he refused to concede defeat and encouraged baseless claims of election fraud as proof of the significant danger he represents.

"This is a person, Donald Trump, who tried to undo the will of the people, who incited a violent mob to attack the United States Capitol, and 140 law enforcement officers were attacked—some were killed. This is a serious matter," Harris said.

The vice president made it clear that her team is ready for any efforts by Trump to announce victory before all the votes have been tallied. "We will deal with election night and the days after as they come, and we have the resources and the expertise to focus on that,” Harris assured.

With the 2024 election just two weeks away, Harris has been ramping up her media appearances, making a final push to appeal to undecided voters.

As Trump continues to claim, without evidence, that the 2024 election could be rigged against him, Harris underlined the gravity of the moment for the American people. “We are two weeks away from a very serious decision about the future of our country,” she said.

While Harris acknowledged the potential challenges on election night, her focus remains on ensuring the Democratic ticket wins fairly and decisively. "We are focused on beating him first," she affirmed.

Kamala also mentioned that Democrats have the resources and legal knowledge needed to counter any efforts by Trump to assert victory too early or undermine the election process.
