Belagavi: A power outage at the Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) Hospital on Saturday night left patients and staff in a difficult situation, as they were forced to rely on mobile phone flashlights for nearly 20 minutes.
The blackout occurred in the emergency ward, disrupting medical services and putting patients at risk. Doctors and nurses were seen treating patients using mobile torchlights due to the lack of electricity.
Patients, too, had to lie on their beds with mobile flashlights held up for visibility. Family members of patients reportedly tried contacting hospital staff through phone calls, urging them to restore power.
The incident caused significant inconvenience and raised concerns about the hospital’s emergency preparedness and backup power systems.
