Motorola Razr 2025 Leak Reveals Dust Resistance, Limited Software Support Compared to Rivals

Send Push

Motorola’s upcoming foldable flagship — the Motorola Razr 2025, potentially dubbed the Razr 60 Ultra — is in the spotlight once again, thanks to fresh leaks revealing key hardware and durability upgrades, alongside a somewhat disappointing software support timeline.

Razr 2025 to Feature Dust Resistance and New Finishes

In a major leak shared by renowned tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), a new gallery of promotional images has unveiled detailed specifications and color options for the Motorola Razr 2025. Most notably, the device appears to feature dust resistance, a first for Motorola’s foldables. A promotional image shows the device surrounded by water and dust, highlighting its “rugged design”, hinting at an IP rating upgrade. This marks a significant improvement, as last year’s Razr lineup lacked any formal dust protection.

Color options revealed include bold green, red, and a unique wood finish, along with an additional side button, potentially for smart shortcuts or AI features.

Specs Confirmed in Leak: Flagship Hardware, High-End Storage

According to the spec sheet, the Motorola Razr 2025 will come equipped with:

  • 7-inch foldable internal display

  • 4-inch cover display

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset

  • 4,700mAh battery with 68W fast charging

  • 16GB RAM + 16GB virtual RAM

  • Up to 1TB internal storage

  • Android 15 out of the box

These specifications put the device firmly in premium territory, likely aiming to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 6 and other 2025 foldables.

Only 3 Years of Android Updates

However, one detail that may disappoint tech-savvy users is the software support timeline. The leak suggests that the Razr 2025 will only receive 3 years of major Android updates, which is less than the 4–5 years promised by Samsung and Google for their flagship devices. In today’s market where longevity matters, this could be a sticking point for some buyers.

Launch Date and Expectations

Motorola has already confirmed an April 24 launch event for its next-gen Razr lineup, where both the Razr 2025 and its sibling devices are expected to make their official debut. The company is clearly focusing on design innovation, durability, and premium performance, but how consumers respond to its software policy remains to be seen.
